Bracken cutting on the hottest day!

In order to cut the bracken before it spreads its spores (August), this morning Tim & Andre have been working in the punishing heat to clear the ‘bluebell’ area behind the chestnut tree on the edge of the field…


Actually this plot was in the shade until the last hour, but even so it was hot enough to make us think that by lunchtime we’d earned a pint. We had the honour of being the first Martlet customers to buy drinks at the bar under the new rules!
