Steepholding is a tiny farm, 9 acres of very mixed land next to the River Tone on the Somerset and Devon border. A traditional mixed farm, we produce a wide variety of delicious seasonal foods, embedded within a hugely ecologically diverse landscape. Veg boxes & more.

Beautifully situated dog friendly cafe with garden and views over the Blackdown Hills. We mix our passion for quality coffee with fresh, seasonal food and delicious home baking.

We are a newly-established grower and processor of organic medicinal herbs based in Somerset. Our philosophy is to produce, dry and process products that may help people to take better care of their own health.

South Gundenham is a small farm - six acres, which is perfect for our needs.

We started off by growing vegetables and rearing meat to eat so that we’d know the provenance of what’s put on our table. 

Friends and neighbours have all enjoyed our home-reared meat and home-grown micro-greens. Any extra we have, we sell to the local community. 

Run by Andi Rickard, our homegrown national scything champion, Somerset Scythe School is here to teach the traditional art of mowing with a scythe. Woodland, meadow, lawn, allotment, churchyard, footpath: the scythe manages them all.  Quieter, quicker and more efficient and environmentally friendly than modern machines, the traditional scythe is making a comeback.

Age 7 to 87+ you can learn to use a scythe.
